How can we help?

Welcome to the Mockups Generator help center. Find answers organized by topic, from your first mockup to a fully automated API pipeline. For step-by-step walkthroughs see our Guides, for technical details see the API docs, and if you can't find what you need, contact us — a real person reads every message.

1.How do I create my first mockup?+

Pick a template from the library (or upload your own PSD with smart objects), open it in the visual editor, drop in your artwork — from your design library or by uploading a PNG — then fine-tune the placement and export. The walkthrough in our guide covers each step: /guides/how-to-create-product-mockups.

2.Do I need Photoshop installed?+

No. Templates are PSD files, but all rendering happens on our own engine — you never open Photoshop. You can even upload your own PSD templates and render them without it.

3.Is it really free, and are exports watermarked?+

The Free plan is fully live today with 50 renders a month, no credit card required. Renders are watermark-free on every plan, including Free, and your rendered files never expire — they stay in your workspace until you delete them.

4.Where do I get templates to start with?+

Browse the public template library at /library, or upload your own PSD. Any PSD with embedded smart objects as the design placeholders works — RGB or grayscale, 8 or 16-bit, with warp meshes of any grid size.

1.Does the preview match the final export?+

Yes, exactly. The editor's live preview is produced by the same render engine as the final file — the same warp math and compositing — so there's no separate client-side approximation. What you position is what you download.

2.How do I position and adjust my design on the product?+

Add artwork to a design slot, then choose a fit mode (cover, contain, or stretch). Drag to reposition, scroll to scale, and rotate to taste. You can also adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation per slot, or add a solid color fill for garment variants.

3.What formats and sizes can I export?+

Export PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 8192 px, with a transparent background if you need one. For production, you can also export a print-ready file at the template's source resolution, with DPI metadata.

4.Do editor previews count against my render allowance?+

No. Previews in the editor are free and unlimited on every plan. A render is only counted when you export a finished image.

1.What kind of PSDs can I upload?+

Any PSD with embedded smart objects as the design placeholders, in RGB or grayscale, 8 or 16-bit. Warp meshes of any grid size (including large quilt grids), layer masks, and multiple placements of the same design are all supported.

2.How does the engine reproduce Photoshop's placement?+

It reads the smart object's transform (a perspective homography of your artwork's four corners) and its warp — a grid of Bézier control points that bends the design to follow curves, folds, and seams — then re-applies them and resamples your design once. This is verified pixel-for-pixel against Photoshop's own rasterization by an automated test suite.

3.Will my own templates keep my listings on-brand?+

Yes — that's the point of rendering your own PSDs. Because the engine reproduces your template's exact perspective, warp, and lighting, your artwork inherits the product's real shadows and highlights instead of looking generic. Learn more at /guides/smart-object-mockups-explained.

1.What is bulk generation?+

Bulk jobs render a whole matrix of designs × templates × colors server-side in one go, then return a zip. It's ideal for generating mockups for every SKU or every design drop without touching the editor for each one.

2.What happens if I stop a bulk job partway through?+

You can stop a job at any time. You're billed only for the renders completed before the stop, and you still get a partial zip containing everything that finished.

3.How is bulk usage counted toward my plan?+

A bulk job counts one render per variation actually produced. Failed renders are never billed, and your monthly allowance resets each month rather than expiring as credits.

1.How do I authenticate and render over the API?+

Create a named, revocable API key, then authenticate every request with an Authorization: Bearer header. POST to /api/v1/renders with a template id and a design (file, design_url, or stored asset id); the finished image returns in about a second.

2.How do asynchronous renders and webhooks work?+

For heavier jobs, POST to /api/v1/render-jobs with a webhook_url. The render runs server-side and POSTs a completion payload — no polling required. Each webhook carries an X-MGW-Signature header (HMAC-SHA256 of the raw body using your per-account secret); recompute and compare it in constant time before trusting the payload.

3.Is there an interactive API reference?+

Yes. /api/docs serves a live OpenAPI explorer with try-it-out for every endpoint, and the full written reference lives at /docs/api.

4.Can I avoid re-uploading the same artwork on every call?+

Yes. Upload reusable artwork once to your design library and reference it by asset id in every render. Repeated jobs never re-transfer the bytes, which keeps high-volume pipelines fast.

1.What counts as a render?+

One exported image — any format, any size, fast or studio quality. Editor previews are free and unlimited. Bulk jobs count one render per variation actually produced, and print files count one render per file.

2.Do unused renders roll over or expire?+

Your allowance resets monthly. Unlike credit systems, there's no expiring balance to micro-manage and no surprise top-up math — you always know exactly what a month costs.

3.Which plans are available right now?+

We're launching free-first: the Free plan (50 renders/month) is fully live today, and paid plans are coming soon. Every plan includes the full engine — custom PSDs, the editor, bulk jobs, and the API with webhooks. Want early access to paid tiers? Reach out at /contact.

4.What happens to my work if I cancel a paid plan?+

Cancelling does not delete your work. Your rendered files persist until you delete them, and your uploaded PSD templates and design images stay private to your account. You also keep ownership and IP rights in everything you upload and render.

1.Are my uploads used to train AI models?+

No. We never use your uploaded PSD templates, design images, or rendered outputs to train machine-learning models — our own or anyone else's. Your uploaded files are private to your account and are used only to provide the Service to you. See /privacy for details.

2.How long are my rendered files kept?+

Until you delete them. We do not auto-expire your mockups — there are no 24-hour expiring URLs. Files are stored in S3-compatible object storage and remain in your account so you stay in control of how long they're kept.

3.Who owns the designs and mockups I create?+

You do. You retain ownership and intellectual-property rights in the designs you upload and the mockups you render, on the free tier and on any paid plan.

4.How do I delete my account and data?+

You can delete your files and account yourself at any time, or email support@mockupsgenerator.com to have your account and stored files removed entirely. When you delete content or close your account, we delete the associated files in the ordinary course, subject to short-lived backups and any legally required retention. Full details are in our Privacy Policy at /privacy.
