How to Create Product Mockups (Without Photoshop)

A product mockup turns a flat design into a believable photo of a real, printed product. This guide walks through creating one from a Photoshop template in your browser — no Photoshop installed, no design skills assumed.

  1. 1

    Get a mockup template

Pick a template from the library or upload your own PSD with smart objects. The smart object is the placeholder where your artwork will go.

  2. 2

    Open it in the editor

Open the template in the visual editor. Each design slot is highlighted on the product photo, with a live preview that renders on the actual surface.

  3. 3

    Drop in your design

Add your artwork to a slot from your design library or by uploading a PNG. Choose a fit mode — cover, contain, or stretch — to control how it sizes into the slot.

  4. 4

    Fine-tune the placement

Drag to reposition, scroll to scale, and rotate to taste. Adjust brightness, contrast, and saturation per slot, or add a solid color fill for garment variants.

  5. 5

    Export your mockup

Export a PNG, JPEG, or WebP up to 8192px — with a transparent background if you need one. For production, also export a print file at the template's source resolution.

What makes a mockup look real

Three things sell realism: the right perspective, a warp that follows the product's surface, and lighting that wraps your design in the product's own shadows and highlights. A good template encodes all three, so your artwork inherits them automatically.

Why the preview matches the export

The editor's live preview is produced by the same render engine as the final file — the same warp math and compositing. There's no separate client-side approximation, so what you position is exactly what you download.

FAQ

Common questions

1.Do I need Photoshop?+

No. Templates are PSD files, but rendering happens on our engine — you never open Photoshop. You can even upload your own PSD templates and render them without it.

2.Are exports watermarked?+

No. Renders are watermark-free on every plan, including the free plan.
