A print file is not the mockup

The mockup includes the product scene and perspective. A flat export contains the artwork placement in its source artwork area. It does not include a product photo or recreate a printer-specific production template.

Check size and effective resolution

Enter the physical specification requested by your printer. Preflight compares required pixels, actual dimensions and effective artwork DPI. Changing a DPI tag or enlarging an image cannot recover detail missing from the source.

Review bleed and safe areas

Automatic checks cannot certify artwork coverage, pattern quality or whether important content stays within the safe area. Review those details manually and confirm color, transparency and production requirements with your printer.

Export with the report

Read the warnings and acknowledge them before an export that requires review. The flat file retains its source resolution; preflight does not automatically resize it to pass. Final printer acceptance is not guaranteed.

Questions about print file checks

1.Does 300 DPI guarantee a printable file?

No. A 600-pixel image printed 10 inches wide has 60 effective pixels per inch regardless of a 300-DPI metadata tag. Physical dimensions and actual pixels both matter.

2.Are print files included in collection ZIPs?

No. Collection ZIPs contain mockup images and a manifest. Export flat print files separately in the editor.
