DPI (dots per inch)

A measure of print resolution: how many ink dots fit in one inch. Higher DPI means finer detail; 300 DPI is the common standard for sharp prints.

DPI only matters at print time — it tells the printer how large to render each pixel. A 3000×3000px design at 300 DPI prints crisp at 10×10 inches; the same file at 150 DPI prints at 20×20 inches but softer.

Print files embed DPI metadata so your fulfillment partner sizes the artwork correctly without guesswork.
